Hydro power is not new and to the world, in fact has been around for decades. We really do not take advantage of this great clean resource to help out with our electrical needs. It does account for around 8 percent of the US’s electricity, so it does already do a decent share.

The cost would be minimal compared to other renewable energy sources. We already have dams in place; it is just a matter of slapping turbines on them. The percentage of dams that are actually generating electricity is only around 3 percent, so that gives you some idea of what water power can generate. The ocean also provides incredible energy that has really not been explored as far as tapping some of the energy.
